Shauna Bibi Adri

Shauna Bibi Adri owns Shade Studio and has been behind the chair for eighteen years. She is IBE certified, Milbon trained and Bellami certified, and specializes in hand tied extensions, lived in color and color correction.

Shauna opened Shade Studio in 2025 after eighteen years behind the chair, and built it around the three things she wanted to be genuinely great at rather than passably good at everything: invisible bead extensions, lived in color, and color correction.

She is IBE certified, Bellami certified and Milbon trained. Those certifications are the reason a large share of the book travels in rather than shopping locally. Roughly half of Shade Studio's clients drive down from Brooklyn, and about forty percent of everyone the studio sees comes from outside New Jersey.

Her approach is consultation first and honest second. If what you are asking for cannot be done safely in one appointment, you will hear that before you sit down rather than halfway through. Turning a service down is not difficulty, it is what keeps your hair on your head.

Your first visit with Shauna

Most first appointments with Shauna are a consultation, because most people come to her for extensions or correction and neither of those should be booked blind. She will look at your hair in real light, ask what it has been through, and tell you what is reachable and over how many visits.

Bring photos of what you want and, just as usefully, photos of things you did not like. Bring your honest color history too. Nobody is going to judge you for a box dye, but a plan built on a guess is a plan that goes wrong.

How far ahead should I book with Shauna?

Further than you think, particularly in summer. The shore season fills the book and extension installs need a consultation before them, so there are two appointments to fit in rather than one.

Do I need a consultation first?

For extensions and any large color change, yes, always. For a refresh of work she already does for you, no.

Is she the right stylist for a correction?

Correction is one of the three things she has built her career around. If another salon left you somewhere you did not want to be, this is the chair.
