Who we are

Shade Studio is a high end hair studio at 131 Brighton Ave in Long Branch, New Jersey, specializing in hand tied extensions, lived in color and color correction. It opened in 2025 and is owned by Shauna Bibi Adri, who has been behind the chair for eighteen years.

The studio was built around a decision most salons do not make: be genuinely excellent at three things rather than adequate at twenty. Extensions, lived in color and correction are what we organized the room, the training and the product wall around. It is also why we will occasionally tell you we are not the right salon for what you are asking, which is a service in itself.

Who sits in our chairs

Our clients range from their twenties to their sixties and a large share are in every four to six weeks for color. What surprises people is how far the rest travel: about forty percent come from outside New Jersey, and roughly half the whole book drives down from Brooklyn, more of them through the summer when families are down the shore.

That reputation was built by name rather than by advertising, and it is the reason a working stylist here sees high end clientele from day one rather than building from nothing.

How we work

Integrity first. We protect the health of your hair before we protect the sale. If the thing you want cannot be done safely in one visit, you hear that before you sit down, not halfway through.

Artistry, not formula. Color placement is mapped to your face shape, your natural level, where you part and how you actually wear your hair. Extensions are cut and blended into your own hair, which is the part that decides whether they read as hair or as extensions.

Education constantly. The team trains on studio days, and the certifications behind the chair are current rather than framed. That is what keeps the work at the level clients travel for.

When did Shade Studio open?

2025. Shauna had been behind the chair for eighteen years before opening it.

What is Shade Studio known for?

Three things: IBE hand tied extensions, lived in color and balayage, and color correction. The studio was deliberately built around being genuinely good at those rather than passable at everything.

Where are you?

131 Brighton Ave, Long Branch, New Jersey, a few blocks in from the ocean. Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 4pm, and Thursday 12pm to 7pm.

Do people really travel to you?

Constantly. About forty percent of our clients come from outside New Jersey, and roughly half the book drives down from Brooklyn. Extensions and color are the usual reasons.

Do I need a consultation?

For extensions and any big color change, yes. For a service we already do for you, no.

What do you not do?

We are a color, extension and cutting studio for our regular clientele. If you are unsure whether we are the right fit, call and we will tell you honestly rather than book you in and disappoint you.
